Wow, I don’t even know where to begin. Is this supposed to be a song I like, but really don’t? Or a song I absolutely hate?

And with that, is it a recent song or a song of the past? I’d like to go with the latter, and say it’s this song:

Crank That (Soulja Boy) – Soulja Boy

This song made me rage so hard, and the fact that the production is so incredibly shitty yet people seemed to just lap it up like it was gold. Apparently it WAS gold, considering that it shot off his career.

It’s shitty music like this that makes me wonder why I even try with my own music. You try to make something that sounds so good, yet you get minimal attention. Someone takes FL Studio demo version and makes an underproduced track like this, and BAM – instant stardom.

So today starts the 30-day song meme.

I have many favourite songs, and they collect over the years, so I have to say this is very hard to whittle down to ONE favourite song.

I really, and I mean really had to put a lot of thoughts into this one, but I think I have decided on the one:

See The Lights – StripE (Kosuke “kors k” Saito)

I first heard this song during kors k’s live set at “Bowlmani Fest” back during the summer of 2006. I believe it was one of the first times he had played that song live before it appeared on the Energetic Trance 001 CD. I just remember being mesmerized by the synth works, and the drop. The solo synth’s melody pretty much pierced through me and sent shivers up my spine. It holds special place in my memories, and it gives me so many mixed emotions: a feeling of being lifted, a feeling of abandonment, a feeling of nostalgia. All of this is crammed into this track, it’s amazing. This track also goes to show how Kosuke is able to tug at people’s emotions with his music, and it really stands out from all of his works.

I’d really love to remix this track one day, but I don’t know if I’d be able to really give it the justice it deserves for a remix!

So I haven’t posted on my blog in a while.

Life hasn’t really been that interesting, honestly.

Just to let you guys know, I’m not dead! I just haven’t had anything really to blog about the past few months.

The past month I’ve been sick off and on, and it’s been rather annoying.

Around the Christmas holiday I wound up with a very nasty bi-lateral ear infection. Even though I took a heavy-as-hell regimen of anti-biotics as prescribed, I somehow managed to get sick again last week. I had a sore throat (presumed it was strep) and was feeling less than good. That Wednesday I started having coughing spells and realized that I more-than-likely had bronchitis for a second time in my life.

Soooo, I went to the doctor and just like I thought. I did indeed have bronchitis, BUT THAT’S NOT ALL!! Apparently, I still had a slight ear infection, which spread into my sinuses (sinusitis, anyone?) and then went into my lungs. Trifecta, anyone?

Doctor’s Cure: Sinus coctail + cortizone injections, steroids, antibiotics and inhaler! GG, Tora. GG.

I’ll be fine in due time, but this is really putting a hamper on my singing practices. >: Not cool.

I decided to open up a SoundCloud account last week after seeing my good friend and aquaintance, DJ Rhythmics, open one himself. So please, by all means come check out my profile here. I’ll still use my tumblr for uploading random ideas or scraps of music, but soundcloud will be more for songs that are finished or are close to being finished.
